Hello everyone.
So where to begin? How about I tell you about myself then.
I'm 18, Australian and finishing up my final exams at high school.
It's been a bit frustrating for me in regards to my weight for the past few months. I'm a martial artist, moving into teaching, and I've been doing various forms of swordsmanship and hand to hand training for many years now. Unfortunately, with the onset of exams and the stress of a psychological breakdown I suffered about a year ago, my schedule went down the drain, and I started gaining weight.
I was living pretty happily for a long time, I had the most amazing girlfriend and friends I could ask for, but one day something went wrong. I had a dormant psychological disorder that was triggered by a flare of anger, and I lost control of my body for a short time. Not only was I terrified of what I'd done in this state, but I was terrified of what might happen if it happened again, not just in sparring, but in the field.
I locked myself away, my friends left, scared of me, my girlfriend left me because I scared her too. I spent so long trying to figure out what went wrong. So I got help from a psychologist in my town, and I worked out how to stop it from coming out and thanks to the support of my family and my doctors, it's not an issue any more! I have good friends now who support me, and who aren't afraid of anything, but unfortunately the bust in my routine that the damage had has caused me to put on quite a few pounds due to inactivity, and so now I'd like to start losing them again, and this time keeping them off!
My main area of trouble is my core muscles. I've never been really "ripped", mostly just in shape, but my core has always been a sore point, as I never seem to be able to work off this perpetual belly, perhaps due to the fact that most of my time was dedicated to my Kendo classes.
In any case, I'm currently sitting about 190 pounds and I'm 6 foot 2. Things are going well, but I'm looking to get them even better soon!
I'd also like to support everyone else in their quest to a better body shape, so good luck all! I hope to get along with you all really well
