Hey Y'all!!! I am student at UTSA (The University of Texas at San Antonio) studying Anthropology and a Minor in History. I am Hypoglycemic, and currently dealing with a lot medically. Along with the Hypoglycemia, My entire body's systems are off. I have adrenal problems, thyroid issues, and my neurotransmitters are off balanced. The good news is, I am fixing it and balancing them through Diet and proper nutrition. I am a big time Fitness Geek, espeically since I started crossfit 8 months ago. Also, I am a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, including training to become an Instructor. Currently, as we balance my body, I am not in school and not exercising/crossfit, as my body can't handle it. My Goal in Life is Army Special Forces (The Green Beret) Officer. In about a year and a half I will go enlist and rock the world. Also, I am a cancer survivor, specifically Testicular Cancer. (guys, do your monthly exam: tcrc.acor.org/tcexam.htmlAnd girls, do your breast exams as well: www.nationalbreastcancer.org/breast-self-examI hope I can attribute a lot here, as I love fitness, nutrition and have learned a lot since my cancer. Also, feel free to ask me any questions, either in PM, or in this thread. Mindrop

Have you spoken to a recruiter to make sure none of what you mentioned will DQ you?
Although if it does most of the time you can get wavers.

I'm sorry to hear about all your health problems, but congrats on surviving cancer! If you can overcome that you can overcome anything.

Holy crud that's an long list of medical maladies. I'm glad that you continue to push yourself! That's really inspiring.
Crossfit is tough as nails. You have my respect for doing that.

Its good to see other martial artists on the forum.
Welcome to the group, Mindrop!
I like your spirit, I think we will become good friends. It is good to see you so gung ho, I can tell, cancer isn't going to be able to stop somepony like you.
I'd be shooting for military service as well, but I have to get myself off of my ADHD medication for a year.

My cancer was germ cell, which means its greatest risk of coming back is the first year. The army takes germ cell cancer survivors after 2 years free. Plus, crossfit will help it look like nothing was ever wrong. Yay! Another martial Artists!!! And yes, good luck getting off those meds. Look for a natural/functional doctor, they can help get you off meds just by diet.

Hello mindrop!
I got much respect of people who do martial arts just because they are weapons... and need a big will to go on and learn to controll their body. Once I tried to do martial arts but I dont liked it but that was long ago when i dont even liked sport at all... maybe I will try it again anytime!
