Hello! I'm a college senior in the lovely Pacific Northwest. My hobbies include just about everything, and I love hanging out & working with kids, watching cartoons, playing with toys, you get the idea. My favorite people are mostly my awesome family, which just doubled in size since my brother got married on Saturday eeeeeeee! ;D Oh, and Bon Bon is best pony.
I've been trying to lose weight for the last 2 years or so. I went on a 1000 calorie diet for maybe 6 months and only lost 10 lbs which promptly came back. (I'm 5'3" so it's not as extreme a diet as it sounds.) Though I eat fairly healthy, I hate exercise and I love, love, love Hostess Powdered Donettes. (Seriously. They're ambrosia.) I'm hoping by joining here, I'll get some encouragement to make healthy choices and fit back into my size 8 jeans!

Hi Bon Bon,
wow 1000 kcal ._. even if you are "small". In this diet time your body maybe thought you in "trouble" and after that time when you eat more he safe the extra food for another bad time and thats why your weight came back. Dont watch to much on Kcal, it is what you eat not how much.

Hello Bon Bon! Why do you hate exercise? You know, there are psychological as well as physical benefits to working out. Have you never found the right routine for you?

I know that 1000 calories is unhealthy, but I was desperate haha. Not even close to that anymore, so no worries.
I hate exercise because I don't really like to move in general. People always talk about "runner's high" and "endorphin release" but I've never experienced that, so I just do it because I know I'm supposed to, which doesn't exactly motivate me. I like walking and biking, but when the weather's bad, it's hard to force myself outside, you know?
Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!

Sweet Celestia I'm glad that you aren't doing 100 kcal anymore.
I find that having a training partner is a great way to stay motivated. If you check your local running store there are generally groups that go on runs from their. They are usually very welcoming to all experience levels.

Mother of God, if I did that I'd look like Jack Skellington right now. I should also note that 1000 was my goal and not necessarily reached -- probably more an average of 1200-1400 per day. And I was just thinking of finding a partner today! Thanks for reminding me!

Welcome Bon Bon, your name would imply a love of sweets, I feel your pain xD I am a big fan of all things sugary, but I do even in out, and not with 1000c diets ...you may have over did it a little lol I hate exercise because I don't really like to move in general. People always talk about "runner's high" and "endorphin release" but I've never experienced that, so I just do it because I know I'm supposed to, which doesn't exactly motivate me. I like walking and biking, but when the weather's bad, it's hard to force myself outside, you know? ! That just means you haven't found the right exercises for you! There are so many ways to workout that I would be impressed if you found one you don't love. So I recommend keep trying new things, check out our exercise section, the writers did an excellent job there! (P.S. I hope we gain/have a Lyra that you can become great friends with xD)
