Hi, my name is Matthew. Lets get down to business, i am 17, i come from Arlington Texas, and i am 5ft 11in, 235lb. I have been overweight for most of my life, and it seems that every time i start to try and lose weight, i just end up forgetting about it and giving up (Laziness) . I do have access to the YMCA, a local park, and a swimming poop in during the summer, so i think i am set when it comes to resources.
My problem obviously comes in at motivation, where to start, what to plan, what to eat, and etc. Hopefully the site, and the people of these forums will finally help me to finally become healthy and stay that way. I am hoping to lose at least those 35lb as my first long term goal.
When it comes to my diet, i don't eat all to much junk food, and am very picky when it comes down to overly processed foods. I wouldn't mind going completely vegetarian if given enough variety and meal ideas, as i have been loosing my appetite in most meats over the years. Now that i think about it, my eating problems may lie mostly in the sense that i eat to much when i am bored, or when i feel like i cant get a wholesome meal. I feel like i am going on a rant here, so i will close for now. Hope to hear from you guys and get some pointers. =D
P.s I could also use suggestions on some fairly priced running shoes.

Yea well, its not like i don't have anything productive i could do to not be bored/lazy. The problem is getting the motivation to do anything.... My room could probably use a straightening as well....

Welcome to the forum Matthew! Glad to have you aboard. Going full vegetarian can be costly as you would need to buy supplements to replace the ones you aren't getting from not eating meat. Also, you would need to ease your body into it to see how your body would react to the change because your body might not allow you to become full vegetarian so to speak.
As for motivation, I don't think that we can offer that, rather we can help you find it. For me my motivation is easy as I have played sports all throughout my high school career. My motivation is getting back to being in the shape that I was in during high school and then some. I suggest that you try looking in the mirror and visualizing how you want your body to look (realistically!) and then go it lol. That's how I do it anyway.
And eating because you're bored is definitely not good lol, and if you eat after 9 p.m. you should stop that to because your metabolism slows down after 9 and it can cause you to gain more weight than you should. I hope that this was of some bit of help =)

I think i was thinking more about support when i said motivation, but your right, it should be motivation enough to look in the mirror and want to be better. As for going meatless, i probably don't eat it as much as a normal American does (maybe with about 3-5 meals a week.) though i do tend to eat eggs, nuts, and take a multi vitamin every day. I should probably do some ore research if i want to cut meat out even more. And the eating when bored again, having this group for support will hopefully remind me not to do such things, i gonna be leaving tab to this site up to remind me.

This fandom got your back, just check in with us and we'll keep you on task. You're right, you should definitely do more research on being a vegetarian, I have a friend who's a vegetarian and I've heard that it's not exactly easy starting off. If you're ever looking to tune up your muscles I can give you a few advice on what to do. I spend most of my workout time in the weight room.
