How did everyone like the opening two-parter to Season 3 (spoiler-free please)? I thought the villain was rather weak, but Pinkie Pie was pretty hilarious. Maybe 3rd place in the epic 2 parters behind the Discord eps and Canterlot Wedding, but ahead of the Nightmare Moon episodes.

I liked it less than the Mare in the Moon episodes, just because the villain was so..... boring. He didn't really do anything or have a personality, and his design sucked. But there was a lot of great stuff in the episode - Spike being awesome, a certain staircase scene, crystally-ness, GAKGAKGAKGA-- *cough* Sorry about that. All in all, solid episode, though not up to the bar set by Return of Harmony. At least it had less plot holes than A Canterlot Wedding.

Maybe I'm biased because The Mare in the Moon made me a brony. And a Pinkie Pie fan.
