It may sound crazy, but improving balance can really help build core muscles and can enable you to do some amazing things. Handstands can be good for upperbody, but mostly core strength and control as you learn how to keep upright. Balance can help you learn to walk on your hands, balance on one hand, and do all sort of break dancing moves like air flares.
There are also breakdancing freezes like baby freeze and turtle freeze that help with core as well and leg strength.

That's a good idea, least for me. I pride myself on my balance at least when I am on my feet(or a foot),and I'm looking to build some upper body muscles and that could be a fun way to go about it!
Any suggestions on how to get started?

Learning to break fall. The Japanese word is "ukemi", and it is a technique made to help you not hurt yourself when you fall. I'll make a video later on, but even my breakfalls need work. There are some videos on youtube, but they don't exactly do hardcore breakfalls. Also, practicing on grass can help out with the falling problem.
You can use walls to get used to being upside down, and even get in some handstand push ups.

Usually come to me pretty naturally as well, so I'm defiantly gonna start practicing this.
