After the borderline-grimdark of the first two episodes, we needed a massive injection of silly, and this one paid off in bucketloads!
Best bits of this episode (no spoilers, honest!) 1. 'Wheee!' has become the new 'yay!' 2. Ribbiting oranges! 3. Pinkie physics! 4. The return of Harry the Bear! 5. Applejack: "Oh, give it a rest..." 6. The Perfect Pinkie test!

The only way I can describe this episode is FUN*Link may contain slight spoilerage* That video reminds me of this video. I enjoyed the episode, it was a lot of... fun. Was it just my imagination or did anyone else see different shades of Pinkie Pies? Seemed like some were darker, like Party of One dark, while others were normal.

I think that if any of the Pinkies were darker it was either because of her being in water or because she was in the background/super foreground. Though I have to say I desperately wanted to catch a glimpse of a single Pinkamina Pinkie. Plus that whole "Legend of the Reflecting Pool" rhyme that Pinkie had me unable to stop thinking of Friendship is Witchcraft's "Pinkie Brew"
I also loved how AJ and Rainbow were so casual with the whole "We don't mind who you pick" thing while Pinkie was freaking out. Then when Pinkie did show up to meet Rainbow you could tell Rainbow was secretly glad that she'd picked her over AppleJack.

I really need to rewatch this episode when I have more time, I kind of watched it in a big rush before work and missed out on a lot of the... fun. I think my favorite part was definitely where she says "off to double my fun." I'm a huge Luna fan and the Luna episode is my absolute favorite so I pretty much lost it when she said that.

Episode was golden! I really liked how Pinkie got to be 'smart Pinkie' again instead of being purely comic relief. She's at her best when she's eccentric, for sure, but I don't like when they reduce her to a one dimensional character off and on. Completely avoided here, sans clones - but of course they're excused from that as it's what they're there for.
Dave can write Pinkie like nothing, I guess is my point.

That was Dave Polsky? No wonder I loved it! I was really sad when I found out he didn't write a single episode for season 2, because "Over a Barrel" and "Feeling Pinkie Keen" are two of my favorite episodes. The guy is one with his inner pinkie, for sure.
Also, the message of the episode is pretty good. It was a message I had to learn for myself not too long ago. As someone who tries to do everything, its easy to end up over your head in opportunities, but you have to be able to decide which ones you can really commit to, otherwise people will get frustrated with the fact that you don't give them a straight answer.
