Everybody Loves SHOPPONG!!!! (Or I do at least ;D) Even if you don't, here are a few tips for working out at the store.
-If you are at a mall, try to walk around as much as you can! -Everyone knows it's impossible to avoid an olipticle elliptical or a treadmill at a sporting goods store, so next time your at one, try out the workout exercises they have. -Carrying bags=Lifting weights (Especially if you have a lot of bags.
Well, that's all I've got! Do you have any ideas of how to stay in shape while shopping? Reply with 'em!

The downside to shopping at the mall being the food court. You can definitely get a lot of walking done while shopping but it probably won't be very consistent, usually a healthy walk should last about 30 minutes or longer. If you're walking for five minutes then stop to look at clothes for ten minutes, it won't do you a lot of good. I'd also hate to think of how much money one would need to spend to acquire enough bags for weight lifting. I'm all for optimism but malls consist of escalators and elevators, they really aren't designed for exercise. To be fair though, it depends on the mall I guess, the nearest one to me isn't all that large. However I went to one in Houston, Texas several years ago where my legs were sore the next day, so for people with larger malls, it could work. For a real mall exercise, go bath in the fountain and run away from mall security, that's how you get your exercise at the mall.

Always take the stairs, and if you are waiting for someone in a store, keep moving. Moving = burning calories.

My kind of exercise lately: lugging 40 pounds of library books to and from the library. It's good for both your brain and your body, haha.
Another thing would be to find a grocery store and stock up on healthy food and snacks, that way you can eat well while shopping as well as when you're done shopping.
You could also skip going to a mall and instead go to a town centre (where they have lots of stores), this will force you to walk about town instead of using any escalators or such since they are rarely found outdoors.

I always park farthest from any store I go to, so then I walk farther. (In the wintertime too). If possible, bike to your store, and only buy what you can carry (in a duffle bag, backpack, or saddle bags). If you have to make more than one trip, that's alright. Plus doing it this way will also prevent you from buying too much (of a good thing )....
