That feeling when your muscles are burning when lifting weights? It's kind of like that. Except running causes more intense pains than lifting.
lol I don't really know, I get the same pains but I figure it's just the simple "no pain, no gain" deal.

They're called side stitches. I used to get them all the time when running. Make sure you're warmed up and start off slow. I still get them on rare occasions, but after working out/running for a while their frequency is way less than before.

Your muscles are pretty much freaking out when that happens. It's because they are not adapted to whatever activity you are doing. Muscles will tighten on you, which often times cause cramps in your appendages. However, with muscles on your chest and torso, it's easy to get a burning a sensation. You can't curl up like you can with a cramp (lessening tension on the muscles) in your arm and leg, so with no way for the muscle to relax, you get a more painful/burning sensation until the muscle loosens. Something that's happened to me that is similar yet different, is that when I swim, and turn too sharp under water, I feel a sickening burning in my sides, lower than my rib cage. What I do/did to get that feeling is basically stretch/squish my inner organs through my sharp movements. The ribs help keep things in place, but in your digestive area, you don't have that kind of support, so you are more likely to get whatever I got swimming, and that burning cramp like feeling in your muscles....
