Hi. I am Polish brony and 21 years old. I weight 97 kg(214 pounds), my height is 183cm. I am pretty musclular so I have just a little bit of belly fat to burn to have an ideal weight(I think about 4kg to go). I want tell you a little story about myself
Five years ago in high school I was fat, weighted 117kg(258 pounds). I was tired of being obese so in the second year I have done caloric restriction diet (ate the same crap, just less). I have lost 27kg (60 pounds) . It was a huge success, but I couldn't sustain this diet for long. I was feeling hungry all of the time and not very good. Then my sugar cravings began and I would just eat Nutella out of a jar and feel miserably. Whole cake wasn't a problem for me back then. After two years I gained back 37kg(81 pounds). I got to college, but I was really depressed and lonely. I was not very social, so I couldn't find new friends. One day one of my few friends asked my if I would watch with him this cartoon called MLP:FiM. So I was like WTF, this is so not meant for 20+ guys. I was watching loads of anime, but still it was weird for me at the beginning. I think it was one of the most important moment in my life. We watched few episodes and I was like "This is nice, but why is it so popular?". I started to watch MLP on my own and fell in love with it. I have found out about EQD and other MLP fans in my city. After I joined the fandom I gained many new friends and was starting to feel better, but still I was fatter than ever :/
MLP gave me enough motivation to try a new approach in weighloss. I watched "Sugar: The Bitter Truth" on YT and I was a major breakthrough for me. So I have eliminated nearly all sugar from my diet, all juices, sweets and fruits (Unprocessed fruits are great and it was a mistake to eliminate them too). If I had a sweet craving I would make tea or cookies with stevia sweetener. After nearly a year I lost yet again 20kg(44 pounds). Three months ago while surfing the internet I came across the subject of skin cancer. I have checked my skin and found some strange looking moles. I was like "I am gonna die", "This is the end for me" and so on. For 2 weeks I was really miserable and I cried a few times. I registered to a public doctor, but I had to wait a month for a visit. Then I started search of a natural way to fight cancer. I drank a strange herb mixture from a recipe found in the internet, eat garlic extract tab, rub in turmeric, pepper and paprika into moles and many other things that I found helpful for skin cancer. Then I found Dr Michael Greger YT channel and changed my diet to vegan, because it was one of ways to kill cancer. At last I got to the doctor and was ready for the worst. However it turned out I didn't have cancer to begin with. I was so reliefed, but still wanting to now more about diet and nutrition. So for the last two months I am obsessed with this topic and finding ways to improve my life. In this three months I have lost another 10 kg and I am feeling great now. I am still vegan, but sometimes when with family I eat little bit of dairy or eggs in baked goods.
So I know than it isn't easy to change old habbits, but if one can manage to do even baby steps (just like Flutters ) towards better lifestyle it can make a huge difference. I would like to share what I have learned and help other to change their life. I would like to see this forum repopulated again and maybe spam it on EQD
