Hello, everypony! (don't worry, a TL;DR version of this is at the bottom of this post, for those who don't want my entire life story haha) My name is Tyler and I'm currently a Junior at Binghamton University in Upstate New York. I'm originally from Oceanside, Long Island, and for most of my adolescent years, I was overweight, at some points bordering on obese. In elementary school, my metabolism was so high that anything that went in was almost immediately burned off. It was at a point where at the age of about 10 or 11, I only weighed about 60 pounds, even eating all the crap you'd expect the average 10 or 11-year-old to consume each and every day.
Worried about my health, my parents, during one of my routine yearly checkups, asked the doctor about my weight and why, even eating all that I did at the time, I weighed so little. The doctor said that, even though I was clearly underweight, nothing in my eating patterns suggested anything out of the ordinary for someone my age and merely diagnosed it as an unusually high metabolism.
Well, I continued eating at the same clip I always had been and my parents (my father being Italian and my mother being Jewish), raised no objections and, in the early days, even encouraged it, since I was so skinny.
And I ate continuously for 8 years.
My peak weight was somewhere around the area of 215-220 pounds and 5'7-8" sometime during my senior year of high school (2009-10). Knowing the legend of the Freshman 15, and given that I was already moderately overweight, my parents were rightly worried, both being obese themselves.
But, to the shock of everyone, I bucked the trend in my freshman year of college. My the time the academic year was out, I weighed about 190-195 and had my eyes set on something lower.
But it wasn't to be.
I kept eating and eating and eating. My weight shot back up to over 205 by the spring of 2012. Throughout late May and early June, as I waited at home to begin my job at a local thread mill on June 18th, my father would not stop singing the praises of a fruit and vegetable-heavy diet he had been on for weeks, and had lost about 20 pounds as a result. I kept shooing him away whenever he started talking about it.
Until Father's Day.
While preparing to go to my cousin's house for a BBQ, my mother giftedd my father with a pair of 36" waist khakis, which fit him perfectly. Being that I am a 38" waist, this was absolutely intolerable! The old man had gotten to within almost 15 pounds of me (223 for him to 207 for me) and was starting to scare me.
Well, it's been 4 and a half months, and ever since that day, I haven't even looked back! The very next day, I started on his diet and within the first week, lost 12 pounds. He has remained stagnant as my mother continues shoveling *Squee* down his gullet at home while I have just today reached a new low of 154 pounds.
But despite my weight loss, there still remains a significant amount of unfinished business for me to tend to. I'm currently attempting to get rid of a small but stubborn ribbon of remaining fat around my lower torso, and am trying to develop my abs and build my upper body. I've been successful to an extent and I have a 4-pack which is finally starting to become noticeable, but I wanna get ripped! I'd love to have your guys' help while I am here! Thanks for reading this and I hope to speak to you guys soon!

TL;DR: I've lost more than 50 pounds since June 18th, 2012 and am now trying to build muscle on my arms, shoulders, pecs, core and abs. Can anypony offer me any pointers?
