Howdy y'all! I'm Valor Force, and I joined this group for the extra motivation! I've always been extremely skinny, and not strong per say, so I aim to change that. I don't really have time currently to join a gym, but I want to start building up the muscles in my upper body. Sadly, none of my friends in the area want to join me in this venture so whatever I do round my parts, I'll be doing alone Everything is easier/better/more fun with a group of people along for the ride, and so here I am, hoping to change for the better

Hey valorforce, welcome to the forums!
Having shared quite the same predicament as you, I recommend buying a few dumbbell weights and working out at home if you don't have the time/money to go to a gym.

I have good news for you: you totally don't need to have a gym membership to get in shape! There are lots of exercises you can do at home, many of which don't even require special equipment.
Can't ever go wrong with some of the classics like push-ups, crunches, and squats!

Thanks you two! I actually just got myself an adjustable dumbbell set so I can add on as I get better!

Hi Valorforce, glad you are starting your journey to a better you. Gnarbeard is right you don't need fancy equipment, push ups, pull ups and squats then you can do variations of these exercises.
I'm glad this is on EQD get the word out to be a healthy

Hey there valorforce!
I started work out with 2 partner but both of them leave... but no reason to quit for me i do it anyway! Let me give you one tipp: dont only try to improve your uper body, you have to workout every part of your body. If you only train some parts you will get unhealthy very fast!
