I was surprisingly impressed by the "Forward Unto Dawn" web series and am excited for the release of the game. Sadly, my wallet isn't cooperating.

I for one am completely unexcited by Halo 4. To me the entire Halo franchise has been the videogame equivalent of a cheeseburger prepared by a gourmet chef: high quality materials, well prepared, but ultimately nothing new or revolutionary.
The current generation of Call of Duty/Medal of Honor fails to excite me as well. While never having actually served myself, I know enough about the military to know that these games are little more than gun porn...
What in the FPS genre would flip my switch? If someone out there had the schmengles to release SIX DAYS IN FALLUJAH...

In a lot of ways Fallujah was a giant cluster-(yay!), but that's why the marines that served as advisors on the game originally pitched it to the developers: They wanted 'the folks back home' to see what the battle was actually like, and they insisted that the game be as realistic as possible, with every action having a consequence...The reason that it got canned was the 'outrage' from a lot of people that didn't understand that and saw it as just more MOH/COD gun porn. |
