Hi everypony. There were no threads here, so I'm starting one!
What keeps you motivated to stay healthy?
For me, it's probably cosplaying! I wanna look good. ^^
Looking forward to everypony's response.

To start: THE POWER OF LOVE. That is, I met my fiancee.
Also, depending on your living circumstances, go shirtless whenever possible. Uh, if you're a dude. Not even joking. It's great motivation LOL.
Aaaand I have a graph of my weight. That also helps.

Aaaand I have a graph of my weight. That also helps. Well I would go shirtless, but I live in NY and it was at about freezing this morning so I may have to wait lol. For me fear. Fear was a huge motivation for me. I hated the feeling of losing because I didn't give something my all, it physically and mentally hurt me. So whenever I wasn't working hard, I would remember how bad it felt to lose/give in. Also more recently ponies! (Dashie specifically) I would see how dedicated Dashie was to her dreams of the Wonderbolts and think, "Why don't I act like that?" So I developed a "what would Jesus do" mentality except switch Jesus with Dashie. XD and that got me going to a lot of workouts I would have much rather stayed in bed. So yes a show about candy colored ponies and their magical friendships inspire me, what now haters?! XD

"What Would Dashie Do?" I'm gonna make a sign of this and put it in my room so I can see it when I wake up.
One motivator for me is a pair of jeans I bought that are super cute - they have a rose pattern embroidered on them - I bought then when I was honestly about 80-90 pounds lighter and they were a little snug, but I could get them on, so I was like "Okay, I'll lose 5 pounds and they'll look awesome." Then there were deaths in my family, my dad got cancer, my engagement broke up - all sorts of stress and I packed on the pounds and have never worn those jeans apart from trying them on.
I now have those jeans hanging up in my room as inspiration - my goal is to fit into them by the end of 2013 - if I work hard, I can do it. And yes, I'm giving myself plenty of time because I know it's not going to come off overnight and I know there will likely be holidays, vacations and times of stress where I might not be as careful with what I eat as I should be.
I have little goals along the way too - I have another dress I've worn a couple of times that I could fit if I lost 40 lbs, other shirts and stuff that I'll fit if I lose 20 and have those at the front of my closet.
I also have a cosplay dress already for EFNW next year - it's stretchy so it fits but I look a bit preggo in it right now, so hopefully by then, I'll look awesome!

I agree that thinking of a character or person you admire helps, put me in the "rainbow dash" category haha! I'm also trying to loose weight so I look better and am more confident with myself and my appearance, that's what keeps me going.

The main thing that keeps me motivated is the want to look good for cosplaying, as I really want to get into that after attending my first con this past summer (BronyCon).
Another thing that keeps me hugely motivated is Jaxblade that I met at BronyCon. I friended his Facebook, and over the months so far I've been posting updates about my workout, and he gives me motivational support when I hit a huge milestone.
The last bit that motivates me is my progress I'm making with my body, and my friends that I work out with and share that bond of pain we go through transforming our bodies. This motivation is far from running out, and it's definitely the main thing that drives me forward, as I haven't been this active my whole life.

My little brother. He´s the benchmark when it comes to sport in my house. He always beats me in everything by just an inch. So I have to work harder to wash the smug smile out of his face when I beat him...It might sound rude but believe me it´s totally reasonable, we´ve been pushing our limits ever since ;D.

@static Though that didn't play much of a factor for me, it was the same way for my older brother. He beat me in everything weight-lifting related all my life, but I never really tried to keep up due to lack of motivation. Now I'm a lot stronger than him xD
